The Club had its debut outing at Cobbinshaw Reservoir in West Lothian on Tuesday 16th June. We were not disappointed!
Despite a rainy forecast, the day was mainly dry and cloudy, with some very light winds in the morning that picked up a little in the afternoon. Rising fish were all around from the get-go. The hard part of course was getting them interested in what was cast at them. When you did succeed, then the next challenge was the ‘fight’ in getting them to the net.
The heaviest 3-fish basket honour went to John Prentice (9lb 4ozs), followed by Allan Cook (9lb 2ozs) and Jim Youngman (8lb 6oz). The weighing scales could not separate Brian Amos and Allan Cook who each returned the heaviest fish at 4lb 1oz. Jim Youngman and Robbie Bell were top rods on the day with 4 fish each. Congratulations to all of you.
Afterwards we made our way to our early evening meal at the Willow and Wedge Restaurant at Harburn Golf Club.
Thank you to both Cobbinshaw Angling Association and the Willow and Wedge for their hospitality.
