Annual Dinner at Chirnside Hall Hotel

The Club’s Annual Dinner took place on Thursday 24th October 2024. The dinner was followed by a presentation to this year’s Gold Medal winner and an after dinner speech from Ben McCallum, Educational Officer with the Tweed Foundation

There were 27 members at this year’s Annual Dinner held in the Chirnside Hall Hotel. Platters of appetisers were shared between the members before all tucking into an enjoyable three-course dinner. There was a drop or two of wine on offer too ! Many thanks to the staff of the Chirnside for their excellent hospitality on the evening.

Following the dinner, Robbie Bell was presented with the Gold Medal for 2024 and John Haswell was presented with the J I Ackers Fellowship Trophy.

The Brian Turner Trophy was given to the Club in 2023 by the Whiteadder Angling Association in memory of the their past Secretary, Brian Turner.  Brian was also a past Chairman and active member of our Club until his passing in 2022. George Wood was presented with the Brian Turner Trophy for 2024

Well done to all of them!  A complete list of this year’s Medal and Trophy winners was announced at the AGM.

The Club would also like to thank Ben McCallum, Education and Scientific Officer from the Tweed Foundation , who gave an excellent talk on the education work he is doing with schools, their pupils and other children’s groups around the region.

The 2025 Annual Dinner will take place on Thursday 16th October.
