The Club returned to Coldingham Loch following our earlier visit to the fishery at the beginning of July. Expectations were not too high given the warm dry weather in the intervening period and the impact that has had on trout fishing conditions across the region. At least the weather forecast was on our side with a mix of sunshine and cloud expected throughout the day and a moderate south westerly breeze.
The morning session turned out to be the more productive of the day. Several anglers caught fish and almost all experienced either loosing fish or at least getting a bit of interest with offers and inspections. The action dropped off somewhat in the afternoon.
12 anglers netted 19 fish with Robbie Bell returning the heaviest basket at 8lbs 6oz. Davie Birse weighed in with 7lbs 9oz, followed by Ricky Amos (5lbs 10oz). Robbie also returned the heaviest fish at 3lbs 10oz. Davie was top rod on the day with an impressive 6 fish. Well done guys!
Afterwards we all made our way to the The Heathers Restaurant at Eyemouth Golf Club for an evening meal.
Next and final stop for the season is Chatton Trout Fishery on Thursday 2nd October.
